World War II Russian Chronicles

I always like looking at such photos. Vintage chronicles of world war II are especially interesting to watch, how people looked like and how things looked like – all that emotions.

  • I’m really impressed with all this photos!

  • am I wrong for wanting another world war?… I ‘m not sick just really bored. unfortunately I don’t see zombies in our near future, I need an evil to fight. How bout breast cancer or pollution and excess energy consumption. I’m already have my wife making me a cape right now!

  • I enjoyed looking at these photos, a picture says a thousand words, anymore please.

  • Look at the one with the soldier with one leg and the woman walking along side him. Now, remember that famous photo of that soldier kissing that woman in a similar public square. Essentially, both soldiers are the same. One just wears his injuries on the outside.

Remember that the next time you talk to a Veteran.

  • These are terrific photos. It is always interesting to step back in time to almost any era, and experience through the photos what what going on in that moment in time. Only pictures, and film is the time machine we can enter at will.

  • That is a great set of photographs, thanks.

  • To ‘kfc’ . . . am not clearly sure of what it is exactly about warfare compelling enough to make one experience it, never call upon its arrival. Perhaps witnessing traumatic death. It could be the stench of the dead permeating battlefields whether squad engagements or battalions. Could it be the lust for wanton destruction as depicted in the photos spinning in mid stride from the impact of the round. Amazing how opinion can change swiftly. One moment, a warrior striding across strongly contested ground. The next, and I hate to read into it but, anything strong enough to spin a soldier around like that, is powerful enough to kill him. Ask him the moment before impact, he’s a warrior. Ask him after impact and if alive to talk, the ‘Warrior’ image may not be so agreeable.

Beware of what you wish for . . .
